Sorrel, also known as hibiscus, comes in many varieties and is an important plant in Jamaica, so much so that one variation, The Blue Mahoe (Hibiscus Elatus), is the national tree. Hibiscus Sabdariffa is the tangy flower used to make traditional holiday drinks, jams, and sauces.
Suggested uses: with rum, tea, red wine, and agua fresca.
